Provincial maps & Populations

Post by Thracius on Mon Jul 05, 2010 3:59 pm

This is intended to replace the Urban population, in which everyone will design their Nations around the provinces on the map, and using historical populations to distribute between the provinces. This is a simple, and smoother alternative to Doylers system. The Map will look a little something like this. You may like your Nation as it is on the map, however it would be quite time consuming to customize a map based around everyones Nations, and I don't have the software available to do it myself, but if anyone wants to take up that task then I say go for it.

Otherwise the Map will look a little something like the Stainless Steel one, alternative maps are welcome

The Idea is to take your overall population and distribute it equally amongst your provinces, and during wars you will have predetermined areas of conquest. Tell me what you guys think.

No, that's retarded. For lowly populated non-capital provinces such as.... anywhere in Ireland, then you can't have 200k, because by that logic, Ireland has 900,000, near a million, therefore it's stupid.

I also loath this idea in general because I don't want some blocky shit faction, I want what I have now. I'd rather we went back to the original system than this bs.

Original as in the one we used in the first game?

I think we should. If someone thinks someone else's population is too high they should contact AT LEAST three neutral parties and they can decide.

Well the steaming pile of crap you put on the table Is the reason I suggested this. I don't believe there was an old system, we used common sense. I'm willing to drop all of this if we can agree on just using common sense. Or we can work out making our own provincial map, since you don't like it. I could come up with a rough draft but someone else would have to finalize it if you don't want it looking like crap.

Another idea would be to take the map and put the provinces over our map, that wayyou can still define your shape and still show provinces.

I like it.

But Thracius this is why I wanted to have that common sense thingy, is so there could be common sense in extreme cases, such as Jaketh's when people protested. I don't (or whoever takes this position) use this power unless a complaint is filed (that sound good?)

It was hardly a steaming pile of crap if it got voted it, aye?
I'd be willing to go for common sense again, this system drains all the population out of everywhere.

Well I think mine would be the same anyway, I prefer common sense as it means we can continue to be realistic.
