Faction Specific Modifiers

Post by Jakev2 on Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:50 am

Post here to get your faction specific modifiers. These give certain parts of your army a quality boost, similar to religious bonuses. I will be the judge of whether I think your modifier is overpowered or nor. My word is final Razz. Generally it will be an overall bonus of +1, (i.e. minus one for one type, and plus one for two others, like mine), but smaller nations will be allowed larger bonuses, which will change once they get past a certain size. Please show on your military pages the quality you are paying for, followed by the quality you are getting due to bonuses, eg. for my Balastrieri:

Spoiler:
Quality level: Q5 (+1 due to faction bonus, therefore equivalent to Q6)

Here's the list so far:
Il Granducato di Firenze: +1 to spearmen, +1 to crossbowmen, -1 to light cavalry. NET BONUS: +1
Marrakia: +2 to camels, -1 to all heavy units (i.e. heavy infantry and heavy cavalry). NET BONUS: +/-0
Teutonic Order: +2 to heavy infantry, +1 to heavy cavalry, +1 to crossbowmen, -2 to light infantry, -2 to axemen. NET BONUS: +/-0
Marseille: +1 to pikemen, +1 to light cavalry, -1 to axemen. NET BONUS: +1
Empire of the Black Sea: +2 to Axemen, +1 to Macemen, +1 to Archers, -2 to Light Infantry, -1 to Gunpower units. NET BONUS: +1
Kingdom of the Scots: +1 Pikemen, +1 to two-handed sworsdmen. NET BONUS: +1

That's a little extreme Tiuym. I knor overall it adds up to -1, but +3's are just too much. If you change all the 3s to 2s, It'll be fine.

Well you cant have -1 to navy, so +2 overall is too much.

That's way too much, generally there is a maximum of +2 per unit type.

Also, there is no "longbowmen" or "heavy spearmen". I believe the categories are something like:

Light Cavalry
Heavy Cavalry
Horse Archers
Archers
Crossbowmen
Pikemen (pretty rare, bu as scots you can have them)
Axemen
Spearmen
Light Infantry
Heavy Infantry
Halberdiers

may have missed a couple... scratch

That gives you a net of +3. For now, as you are a very small nation, I will allow this very large bonus, but once you begin to expand (probably when your population goes past 1.5 million) you will have to tone it down a little.

I want +1 to heavy infantry too. My whole army was pretty much based on my bonuses, so I need them until I have more money.

"Heavy Infantry" is EXTREMELY vague. Do you mean Two-Handed swordsmen? 1 handed swordsmen? 1 handed axemen?

You have no light cavalry, so the negative bonus is pointless.

Wouldn't Horse Archers be considered light cav? Change it to Horse Archers then.

Horse Archers/Horse Javlineers are a completely seperate class to light cavalry.
